There’s a saying that the early bird gets the early worm. I find that to be true, even with doughnuts. Rollo’s Doughnuts opens at 4 in the morning, sometimes a little later depending on whether or not the owners get there on time. The only real question is “Do I stay up late to go there?”or “Do I wake up early to get there?”  Whatever you decide, it’s impossible to be wrong. Rollo’s Doughnuts has the best doughnuts I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve made it a life mission to try every doughnut they make at least once. Of course, my favorites will be tried and enjoyed a multitude of times. The classic fluffy chocolate doughnuts is exquisite. When you bite into it, it’s not oily like other doughnut shops, nor is it hollow or airy inside. It’s a fully thick doughnut covered in rich chocolate that blends perfectly with the rest of the doughnut. With each bite it’s more delicious and enticing than the last. I’ll assure you that you cannot stop at one bite. You’ll eat it until it’s gone. You won’t notice at first but your hand will grab another doughnut out of pure ravenous hunger. You might notice halfway through your second or maybe your third, but it’s okay though. Get yourself a box and indulge. It’s okay to have a cheat day once in a while. I absolutely love how the owner sneaks a few doughnuts in your box. She doesn’t give bad ones either, they are pretty good.

I have zero complaints, except my husband only has one. His only complaint, if you can call it that, is the lack of Bavarian cream when it first opens at 4 in the morning. She says I have to wait 30 or 40 mins because they make it fresh. 🤤 One of these days we will time it right. Until then, I’ll keep filling up my box every time I go there.
