Anne of Green Gables

Have you ever loved a book so much that it doesn’t feel like a book? Anne of Green Gables does that for me. When you read this book, you’ll be so wrapped up and the reading will be so effortless, that you won’t feel as though you’re reading a book at all. The characters in the book are real enough to be people. Their problems and happinesses will feel as if they’re happening to you. You’ll no doubt fall in love with each character. They are all enchanting.

The main protoganist of Anne of Green Gables is named Anne Shirley. She’s an orphan girl in need of a family. She’s been described as skinny, a little freckled with fiery red hair and has a temper to match. However, she’s a bright little thing with quite the imagination and can talk everyone’s ears off. Anne’s adventure takes off when she is mistakenly sent to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had plans of adopting a little boy to help around their farm. As soon as Anne Shirley arrives at the farmhouse called Green Gables, she is certain she wants to stay forever . . . but will the Cuthberts send her back to to the orphanage? It is up to Anne to pursaude the Cuthberts that she’s just as good as any orphan boy.

If you love reading and have yet to read Anne of Green Gables, what are you waiting for? Anne of Green Gables is charming, hilarious, heart-warming and the books will stay in your heart a life time. There were so many moments throughout the book, where I laughed with Anne Shirley and yes, there were even moments where I spilled tears on the pages of my books. I almost forgot to mention, Anne of Green Gables is a ten book series, but you’ll enjoy every bit of it.
